Publicly funded or private?
In Ontario, publicly funded home care is arranged through Ontario Health atHome (1-833-515-1234). A care coordinator assesses your parent, decides what care is needed and arranges an agency to provide it, at no cost to your family. Other provinces work the same way through their health authority. If you want more hours than the public program provides, or want to choose the agency yourself, you can hire home care privately and pay by the hour.

- The hourly rate for private visits and the minimum visit length
